MICKIE DOUSSY SCULPTURES
Training
My training began with classes with Claude Guémard, Master Statuary of the Louvre. Learning shaping techniques and primitive and Raku firings with a master potter in Metropolitan France, Marcel Muller, completed my approach. Then it was the meeting with Valérie Lebrun, a ceramic artist from the Ecole de Sèvres, who introduced me to contemporary ceramic sculpture. I completed my training with an experience of primitive firing in Morocco and New Caledonia.
BLACK SANDSTONE SCULPTURES
My journey
For about fifteen years, in the territories of the South Pacific, I have been deepening my research on the traces of the ancient Lapita civilization.
Welcomed by the Kanak tribe, immersed in the tribe, the meeting with the local potters was a very enriching exchange in my creative process.
I was able to combine my research with ancestral traditions that are still present.
BRONZE SCULPTURES
Made from an original ceramic sculpture, the bronze sculptures are 100% French.
